Club room, “kertsi”

Symbioosi’s club room (kertsi) is located on the first floor of Biocenter 3, next to the 24-hour computer lab. It is shared with Myy ry and Svenska Naturvetarklubben rf. Members of all these organizations can enjoy free coffee and tea, and small snacks are available for a fee. The club room serves as a common space for all students to relax and take breaks. Also various events open to everyone are held in the club room, such as sewing patches on overalls or movie nights. Many student organization meetings also take place here.

The organizations jointly maintain the club room. Even though there are club room coordinators, everyone is responsible for cleaning up after themselves. Please recycle your trash, wash your cups, and do not leave your belongings lying around so that the club room remains pleasant for everyone.

From time to time, quality journalism appears on the table in the form of Symbioosi’s student magazine, Symbiontti!

Lending Optics and Bat Detector

Our organization owns binoculars and telescopes that students can borrow. These are kept in the doorman’s office in Biocenter 3, so they can only be borrowed during the building’s opening hours. To borrow the bat detector, contact a board member.

To borrow optics, write your name, contact details, and borrowing period in the blue folder on the shelf in the corner of the doorman’s office, and list the items you are borrowing using the designated abbreviations. Equipment not listed is currently not available for loan. The maximum continuous borrowing period is four weeks during June–August and December–January, and two weeks at other times. Equipment cannot be reserved in advance.

Please confirm on the same form when you return the equipment. Notify Symbioosi ry’s bird representatives if you notice any issues with the equipment or the borrowing form.

O1. These binoculars tend to splay but are usable in urgent cases. For longer trips, we recommend the Focus binoculars.

Marked H1, H2, H3, H4 on the binoculars and their cases. H3 has no protective case but is stored in a cardboard box.

C1. Basic functional binoculars. One lens cover is missing.

TRIPODS

There are two quick-release tripods, wooden Berlebach (B) and Manfrotto (M). One leg of the Berlebach is loose—be careful with your fingers! Please return any removed video heads to their original tripods.
